Within 26 months, the administration of President Joe Biden let roughly four million illegal immigrants into the United States.
This is according to a recent report released by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Immigration Subcommittee Chairman Tom McClintock (R-CA), which showed that “at least 2,148,738 illegal aliens” were released into the U.S. from January 2021 to March 2023. The release of more than 2.1 million illegals was also accompanied by “an additional 205,473 aliens” who were released into American communities “through illegal categorical parole programs.”
Furthermore, estimates by Customs and Border Protection and other border agencies note that, since Jan. 20, 2021, more than 1.7 million illegal aliens known as “gotaways” were able to evade capture by authorities and escaped into the American interior, “with untold numbers of unknown ‘gotaways’ avoiding detection during that period,” read the report by Jordan and McClintock.
This adds up to more than four million illegal immigrants let into the U.S. by March – a number that has undoubtedly increased dramatically since then due to the recent surge in migrants coming through the border. Estimates suggest that, since March, as much as another one million illegal immigrants have made their way through America’s border.
This number also does not include the more than three million legal migrants and temporary workers who were admitted into the U.S. during the same period.
Of the more than 2.1 million illegal aliens released into the U.S. by Biden and his Department of Homeland Security, the Republican-led study asserts that only a very small fraction of them were properly vetted to test their claims of asylum.
“A mere six percent of illegal aliens released into the United States were even screened for fear of prosecution [in their home countries] for purposes of asylum,” wrote Jordan and McClintock.
Furthermore, only 5,993 illegal immigrants who were tapped for deportation were able to actually meet with an immigration judge and then deported from the United States. Jordan and McClintock note that this data contradicts Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ claims that the southwest border is closed and that illegal immigrants are “quickly” removed.
“Instead, with more than 99 percent of illegal aliens staying inside the United States after being released by the Biden administration, there is virtually no enforcement of our immigration laws,” read the report.
The report further noted that the “unprecedented border crisis” is making border officials overwhelmed and unable to fully complete their duties, leaving some Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers with no choice but to “abandon arrests and removal of aliens, including criminal aliens, to process the illegal aliens who have arrived at the southwest border.”
“There is virtually no enforcement of our immigration laws,” concludes the report, which slams the Biden administration and Mayorkas for making America “less safe.”
